I'll add my twopennyworth by condemning the eco mode. My C5 shuts off the CD player at 30 minutes. Also it won't continue until the engine has been running for a while. As others have said, it's a pain in the backside. Leave the side lights on and they'll happily burn for hours. Leave the player on and it closes down at 30 mins.

IT DOES NOT STOP the engine from running!!!! HOWEVER, the engine must run for the car to come out of ECO mode! If the engine fails to start, the car wont come out of ECO mode. But that will be the least of your problems. Unfortunately there are a lot things that could stop the engine from running but ECO mode is not one of them.
switching on the radio activated the eco mode message on the central display. after a couple of minutes running the abs light went out and fuel guage dropped to zero. switching the ignition off then on again ( remember engine keeps running ) starts the whole process again. from memory the circuits that are out are dipped headlights wipers

I think it is shocking that Citroen take the option away from dissarmimg this bloody annoying mode. They must have had so many complaints over this. I think I would even consider not buying another car Citroen or otherwise with this stupid option. Pete [ a truly pissed off eco mode owner].

To start the engine after a car accident, you need to find the fuel cut off switch location (car inertia switch) and reset it. I had a car accident with my 1.25 ccm Ford Fiesta 2006, and after a crash - the engine would not start. However, the ignition switch worked fine, and the engine was cranking. stop start only works if you slow down to around 15mph then stop you must use the footbrake if you put hand brake on engine starts. if a passenger opens the door to get out the engine starts. try driving up uor street then slow down to around 15 mph see if it works if it does try handbrake to see if engine starts then try door. My car keeps sayings its in eco mode we've tried: disconnecting the battery Resetting the BSI And a few others but still wont come out of eco mode. Got it out of eco-mode the other day but went back into it and the same solution isn't working this time.

Aug 7, 2010. #3. In my 206 at least, eco mode kicks in after 20 minutes or so of not switching the engine on. Nothing you can do about it. Doesn't prevent you from using a headunit though?
